About This Project

Establish an international portable benefits framework enabling gig and platform workers to accumulate pro-rated social protection contributions across multiple platforms and employment relationships. The framework would: define minimum contribution rates for platforms based on worker revenue share; establish portable benefit accounts that follow workers across platforms; create international portability for workers operating cross-border; and fund a developing country implementation support program to extend coverage to motorcycle taxi and informal platform workers.
