About This Project

Establish a coordinated international pilot program for ocean alkalinity enhancement limited to 10 sites across diverse ocean biogeochemical regimes, governed by a multi-stakeholder scientific panel with mandatory environmental impact assessment and real-time monitoring requirements. Standardized MRV protocols developed through pilots address the measurement gap preventing OAE carbon market crediting. Governance structures include indigenous coastal community consultation requirements and defined scale limits preventing premature commercialization.
